The Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians “is a living part of the Salesian Family that brings to life Don Bosco’s spirit and his mission in different forms, expressing its eternal novelty.
The Rector Major of the Society of Saint Francis of Sales (Salesians of Don Bosco) as successor of Don Bosco – is its father and center of unity “. (Const. 3)
Don Bosco inspired the beginning of a vast movement of people who work in different ways for the benefit of youth.
He himself founded not only the Society of St. Francis de Sales, but also the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and the Association of Salesian Co-operators.
Including these and other institutions that originated in different parts of the world, the Salesian Family today consists of 30 officially recognized groups that have a total of 402,500 members.
These groups live in mutual communion, share the same spirit and with distinct vocations, extend the mission that Don Bosco began.
Don Bosco’s charisma continues to inspire people of good will. There are currently 27 other groups that ask to become members of the Salesian Family.
